The Latest Defender 130 Modification Becomes A Mentereng Pickup
JAKARTA - British manufacturer Land Rover has repeatedly said he is not interested in presenting a pickup version of Defender, or in an open tub. However, the modified company from the Netherlands Heritage Customs actually presents it as a phenomenal work.
Launching Autoblog, July 1, Heritage Customs is not a new player in the latest Land Rover Defender modifications. Previously, they successfully presented a 90-convertible Defender with an electric folding cloth roof. This time, they targeted Defender 130, the "Big Brother" in the Defender family, and were transformed into a dashing pickup.
The transformation of Defender 130 into this pickup is quite significant. Heritage Customs cut the back of the cabin to create a functional open tub. Not to forget, they added a sports bar to add a strong impression and of course a tailgate (bank gate) with a unique side hinge, complete with the words "HERITAGE" of large size.
As a modification company, Heritage Customs offers almost unlimited personalization options. Can choose paint color, seat coating material, to trim interior according to taste. Not only that, there are also various choices of exterior decal and rim design ranging from 20 to 22 inches. Not satisfied? Heritage Customs provides a variety of off-road accessories such as LED bar lights, rooftop racks, and side step.
Interestingly, the change of Heritage Customs seems to be only cosmetic. Its modification base uses a Defender 130 variant X Dynamic SE which comes with two engine choices in Europe. The standard choice is a 3.0 liter twin-turbo six cylinders with 350 dk power. While wild performance lovers can choose a V8 5.0 liter supercharged machine that produces 425 dk (at an additional cost of course). The AWD (all-wheel drive) driving system is of course standard equipment.
With the tag from 155,000 euros (around Rp. 2.7 billion) not including taxes, the prospective owner clearly thinks twice before using it to transport building materials or household appliances because the price is almost double the price of the original car.
Heritage Customs also said the modification process took about 3 months because it was done completely by hand.
