Ten Houses Of Hangus Residents Due To Fires In Bali Village, Central Jakarta
JAKARTA - A total of 10 houses were burned down by fire in a residential area on Jalan Kampung Bali 6, RT 09/08, Kampung Bali Village, Tanah Abang District, Central Jakarta, on Saturday. Head of the Fire and Rescue Control Section of the Central Jakarta Fire and Rescue Service (Gulkarmat), Ahmad Syaiful explained, the fire allegedly came from one of the roofs of a resident's house. "The fire burned down as many as ten houses, not causing casualties or serious injuries," Ahmad said when confirmed in Jakarta.

The total area affected by the fire reached about 500 square meters (m2) and resulted in as many as 19 families (KK) or 50 people losing their homes. "The alleged fire was triggered by an electrical'short' from the roof of one of the houses that spread to other houses around," said Ahmad. Head of the Central Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-dept., Asril Rizal said, his party received information about the fire incident at around 12.50 WIB. Information was obtained from a resident who reported it to a "command center". "We have deployed a total of 17 fire engines with a power of 51 officers," said Asri. Asril explained, when the first officers arrived at the location at around 12.58 WIB, the fire conditions had spread and spread to a number of buildings. After handling for about 30 minutes, the fire could be localized at around 13.36 WIB. At around 13.48 WIB, the blackout process had entered cooling and around 15.06 WIB, the entire extinguishing process was declared complete.
