The Ministry Of Industry Invites The Young Generation To Advance The Local Crafts Industry Via Creative Fest 2024
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) held a Creative Fest 2024 which is an event for small and medium industry players (IKM) and the younger generation to express their innovation in the handicraft industry.
Thus, it is hoped that it can improve and advance local IKM.
The event, which was held on June 28-30 at Blok M, South Jakarta, presented exhibitions and bazaars for handicraft industry players and workshops that are beneficial for visitors and the community.
"In the future, this will be the center for young people to spill all innovations beyond the reason of ordinary people, especially for crafts, fashion as well," said Expert Advisor to the Minister of Industry/President Expert Industry Trustee of the Ministry of Industry Dody Widodo in Jakarta, Friday, June 28.
Dody said, in the event there were several innovations made by IKM in the handicraft sector which could contribute more to the promotion of local industries.
Such as the use of natural fibers and natural dyes which are used as fashion motives.
Through this activity, said Dody, the Ministry of Industry also encourages IKM actors to study consumer behavior from targeted market targets.
So that it can significantly increase product sales.
"With the Creative Fest 2024 Program, hopefully it can become our joint event to collaborate to improve and advance local IKM. Proud to use domestic products means supporting the nation's own economy," he said.
In addition, he continued, the creative economy every year also contributes quite well to the Indonesian economy.
Given, throughout 2023, the added value of the creative industry reached IDR 1,414.8 trillion or grew 10.5 percent compared to the previous year, which was IDR 1,280.42 trillion.

From this value, the fashion and craft sectors are the two sectors that have the largest contribution, which is up to 33 percent.
According to Dody, the Creative Fest 2024 event could encourage the younger generation to contribute more to the added value of the creative industry by providing various ideas or ideas.
"With so many young people's ideas, then many institutions (refuge) should be bigger (the added value)," he said.
