The Number Of Participation Participates For Pilkada Voters In Jakarta Is Predicted To Decrease From The 2024 Presidential Election

JAKARTA - Head of the DKI Jakarta National and Political Unity Agency (Bakesbangpol) Taufan Bakri predicts that the number of voters participating using their voting rights in the 2024 Simultaneous Pilkada in Jakarta will decrease compared to the 2024 presidential election.

Taufan explained that the decrease in the number of voters' participation has the potential to occur as a result of the deactivation of the population identification number (NIK) of Jakarta residents who already live outside the area by the DKI Provincial Government.

"After there is a frozen NIK, it may decrease. We have the owner of the prediction from the KPU, which is 8.1 million of our voters to carry out the Pilkada in DKI Jakarta Province," Taufan said in a YouTube broadcast by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government, quoted Friday, June 28.

Meanwhile, in holding the 2024 presidential election, voters who exercise their voting rights are around 8.2 million people with a voter participation rate of 78 percent.

"People are really enthusiastic about creating elections to represent themselves as president and vice president, as well as members of the DPRD and DPR in yesterday's election," said Taufan.

Although it is predicted to decline, Taufan said that the number of voters participating in the 2024 DKI Jakarta Pilkada is still in line with the target, which is at least 75 percent of voters who come to the voters and determine the choice of candidates for regional heads.

"The number is 75 to that's an extraordinary number, you know, in this very busy city of Jakarta, residents to beworo-woro, let's come to the sound booth," he said.

Continuing, Taufan said that the majority of voters in Jakarta are the younger generation. Therefore, Taufan invites young people not to be a student and participate in the implementation of the 2024 Pilkada.

"With the younger generation, there is hope. The hope is that they cannot die because of this they need jobs, education, all kinds of things. He must depend on the elected governor who is visionary and has innovation," he added.
