PAN Rejects The Establishment Of The Hajj Special Committee, Yandri: Please, Hajj Is Not Over!
JAKARTA - Member of Commission VIII DPR from the PAN faction, Yandri Susanto, rejected the plan to form a special committee (Pansus) for Hajj 2024. This is because the 2024 Hajj implementation process is still ongoing. In fact, the last batch of Hajj will only arrive in Surabaya on July 23.
According to Yandri, the DPR is sufficient to hold a working meeting (raker) or working committee (panja) to evaluate the implementation of the 2024 Hajj pilgrimage.
"So when it comes to evaluating Hajj and forming special committees and so on, even though I don't agree with the special committee, it's quite a working meeting and committee," said Yandri at the PAN DPP Office, South Jakarta, Thursday, June 27.
"But if the parties propose a special committee, please help me, the Hajj is not over yet! The second wave is still hundreds of thousands, still moving from Mecca to Medina," he said.
Yandri considered it not good if the council members insisted on forming a hajj committee, while the congregation was still worshiping in the holy land.
"So it's not good if our pilgrims are still working in the holy land, Senayan politicians form a special committee," continued the former chairman of Commission VIII of the DPR.
The deputy chairman of the MPR also asked the members of the council to respect the Hajj officers who serve the Hajj pilgrims day and night. Moreover, said Yandri, the current hajj budget is still ongoing.
"If you want to evaluate, go ahead, but I don't agree with the special committee. But if there are parties who want to (form, red) the special committee, please respect that the Hajj is not over yet," he said.
Yandri said that Commission VIII of the DPR had planned to hold a meeting with the Ministry of Religion regarding Hajj. However, based on Law Number 8 of 2019, the evaluation will be carried out 60 days after the pilgrimage is complete.
"So two months, right? It means that September 22 will also be evaluated. BPK will also check, then discuss it again for next year's Hajj," he concluded.

Previously, the DPR's Hajj Supervisory Team planned to form a special committee (pansus) to evaluate findings during the 2024 Hajj implementation.
The chairman of the DPR's Hajjwas Team, Muhaimin Iskandar, hopes that the results of the evaluation can be an important input to improve the quality of Hajj services in the future. It is also hoped that there will be an improvement in services for pilgrims who carry out worship in the Holy Land from time to time.
