Victims Of Mercedes Collision At HI Roundabout Underwent Treatment In Singapore, Police: Chest Wounds
JAKARTA - A cyclist who was hit by a run-in by a luxury Mercedes-Benz car at the Hotel Indonesia (HI) roundabout some time ago is currently undergoing treatment in Singapore.
"Yes, that's right, the statement from his friends is yes. (Treated in Singapore, red)," said Dirlantas Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Sambodo Purnomo Yogo at the HI Roundabout, Central Jakarta, quoted from Antara, Wednesday, March 17.
Sambodo said, the victim suffered a number of severe injuries to the chest. But now his condition is getting better. "The wound is quite severe, there are several fractures in the chest but the condition is more stable," said Sambodo.
The collision case between a black Mercedes and a cyclist that occurred at the HI Roundabout on Friday, March 12 at around 06.37 WIB was recorded on CCTV cameras and went viral on social media.
At that time the victim was passing through the HI Roundabout and was hit by the perpetrator's car with police number B 1728 SAQ until he was unconscious. From witness testimony, the perpetrator hit the victim twice and immediately fled.
The Traffic Directorate of Polda Metro Jaya then arrested a young man with MDA (19) who was known to be the black Mercedes driver who was involved in a hit-and-run with the cyclist. Sambodo said the police secured the DA at his residence in the Bintaro area, South Tangerang.
Apart from securing the perpetrators, the police also confiscated the vehicle involved in the accident as evidence.
