The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Has Reviewed Allegations Of Obstacles In Investigations In The Harun Masiku Bribery Case
JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has the opportunity to apply the article on the obstruction of the investigation after the PDI-P (PDIP) Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto and his staff, Kusnadi.
This was conveyed by the Director of Investigation of the KPK Asep Guntur Rahayu to reporters when asked about the resistance carried out by Hasto and Kusnadi who had been summoned as witnesses in the Harun masiku case.
"HM cases, resistance from HK and KS will not be subject to the article on obstruction, Article 21? Yes, what will we still study later," Asep told reporters at the KPK's Red and White House, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, quoted on Wednesday, June 26.
Article 21 of the Anti-Corruption Law states, Everyone who deliberately prevents, obstructs, or thwarts directly or indirectly the investigation, prosecution, and examination at trial of the suspect and defendant or witnesses in a corruption case, shall be punished with imprisonment for a minimum of 3 years and a maximum of 12 years and/or a fine of at least Rp. 150 million and a maximum of Rp. 600 million.
Returning to Asep, this study was carried out while they remained focused on finding the whereabouts of Harun Masiku, who was still at large. All information is confirmed to continue to be traced.
"What is clear is that we are actually focusing on what kind of process during the initial process of handling this case," he said.
On that occasion, Asep also asked Harun to surrender. "If you are watching, then come here or you can contact anyone, for example fellow journalists or someone from the public who knows please convey it to us," he said.
"So that this doesn't drag on, even though we once again want to convey that we are still making efforts (search, ed)," continued Asep.

As previously reported, Harun Masiku became a fugitive after being named a suspect in giving bribes to former KPU Commissioner Wahyu Setiawan to serve as a member of the DPR through interim shifts (PAW).
The investigators have recently examined four witnesses to find their whereabouts after pocketing new information. One of them is PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto on Monday, June 10.
During the examination, KPK investigators also confiscated cellphones and notebooks which were claimed to contain the 2024 Pilkada victory held by Hasto Kristiyanto Staff, Kusnadi. This made PDIP suspect that politicization had occurred.
In addition, the confiscation resulted in reporting to the KPK Supervisory Board to Komnas HAM. Anti-corruption commission investigators are considered to have worked by not following the applicable rules.
