Mercedes-Benz Releases Four Small Vans With Long Wheelbase, Here's The Advantage

JAKARTA - Mercedes-Benz, an automotive manufacturer from Germany, expanded its product lineup in the small van segment by introducing the latest EQT and ECitan Tourer models. These two van models are here to fill both commercial and personal needs.

EQT and eCitan Tourer are available with longer wheelbase distances with an optional capacity of up to seven seats, thus meeting the needs of customers who want premium vehicles with spaces.

In addition to the two, Mercedes-Benz also presents van Citan Mixto and eCitan Mixto offering more flexibility for commercial use.

Launching the brand's official website, Monday, June 24, the EQT and eCitan Tourer models are van-shaped electric vehicles that have a wider space by extending the wheelbase by 38 cm compared to the standard version.

The lengthy version of the two allows the use of interiors to vary more from placing large items to being filled by many people for long-distance travel needs.

The new feature of both models is the choice of a third row seat with two individual seats, which can accommodate up to seven people. The second and third row seats are equipped with customizable and folded individual seats as well as adjustable head supports.

The latest EQT and eCitan Tourer have an increased baggage capacity of up to 3,660 liters with the rear seat removed. The sliding gate is also widened to 83 cm on both sides which makes it easy to access the second and third rows.

Meanwhile, the Citan Mixto and eCitan Mixto models offer a more flexible interior space. The bench seat in the second row is equipped with an innovative FOLD & LOAD function. According to Mercedes-Benz, the bench can accommodate up to three people.

In an upright position, the bench seat turns into a flexible partition between the driver's compartment and the cargo compartment. This increases the loading capacity to 3,200 liters.

All of these new vans are equipped with a multimedia MBUX system with a screen of 24.12 cm or 9.5 inches with a new steering wheel decorated with a touch control panel.

The MBUX system is now also paired with Bluetooth on smartphones and can be integrated into Apple CarPlay and Android Auto wirelessly. Just like any other electric vehicle, all these new vans can update via over-the-air (OTA).

Mercedes-Benz also provides security and safety devices to all vans, including Hill Start Assist, Near Parking Assist, Tire Pressure Monitoring, Active Lane Keeping Assist, Traffic Sign Assist, Active Brake Assist, and others.

In addition, airbags are also provided for passengers and drivers, the Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) system, Electronic Stability Program (ESP), and seats equipped with ISOFIX.

This electric van has been equipped with a 90 kW electric motor and 245 Nm torque. With a 45 kWh lithium-ion battery, it allows the van to be charged from 10 to 80 percent in 38 minutes with an 80 kW DC Fast-Charging system. Meanwhile, everything is also compatible with an AC charger with 11 kW or 22 kW as optional.

The wheelbase version of Mercedes-Benz EQT is priced at 41,612 euros (IDR 723.6 million) and the latest eCitan Tourer for 40,062 euros (IDR 704.3 million).

Meanwhile, the latest version of the Citan Mixto model is valued at 33,789 euros (Rp594 million) and eCitan Mixto as an electric van is sold for 40,658 euros (Rp714.7 million).
