Houthi Rebels Claim Attack On 2 Ships In The Red-Samudera Sea Of The East Indies
JAKARTA - Yemen's Houthi group said its troops attacked two ships in the Red Sea and Indian Ocean.
The first ship, the Transworld Navigator, was targeted in the Red Sea using an unmanned surface boat that caused a direct attack on the ship, Houthi military spokesman Yahya Saree said.
The second ship, Stolt Sequoia, was attacked in the Indian Ocean with a number of cruise missiles, he said.
He said the ships belonged to the company that violated the ban on entering the occupied Palestinian port.
US Military Central Command (CENTCOM) confirmed the attack on Sunday, June 23, saying Greek carrier Transworld Navigator was attacked by the Houthis in an alleged unmanned aerial system (UAS) attack.

"Today, at 04.00 (Saara time) the crew reported minor injuries and moderate damage to the ship, but the ship continued its journey," CENTCOM said in a statement. It is certain that there were no injuries as a result of the Houthi attack.
The Houthi militant group in Yemen has launched drone and missile attacks on cruise lines since November 2023, saying they acted in the name of solidarity with Palestinians in the Israeli war in Gaza.
In dozens of attacks, the Houthis had sunk two ships, seized another ship and killed at least three sailors.
