Jakarta International Marathon 2024 Results, Kenyan Runners Achieve The Best Position
Jakarta runners won the best G3 31 position at the 2024 Jakarta International Marathon (JAKIM), Sunday, June 23.
The two runners are Geoffrey Kiprotich Birgen for the best male runner category and Sheila Jepkosgei Chesang is the best female runner.
According to Antara's observation, for the male number in the male marathon category, Geoffrey Kiprotich Birgen (Kenya) was the best followed by Kiprop Tonui from the same country.
In third place, there are Bililign Yimer Ali from Ethiopia, Joseph Mwangi Ngare and Kenneth Kiprop Kipkemoi Kenya.
For the first-placed female number occupied by Sheila Jepkosgei Chesang Kenya, secondly Careen Cheatoek Mwetich and third-placed Shauline Chepkiru Koech who is also from the country.
In fourth place isAHNawira Muchiri and fifth place is Hellen Nzembi Musyoka. These two women are runners from Kenya as well.
Bank BTN Corporate Secretary Ramon Armando said there were 232 foreign runners from 32 countries enlivening the 2024 JUDGE.
The 30 countries include the United States, Britain, Sweden, the Netherlands, Brazil, Russia, New Zealand, Malawi, Serbia, Taiwan, Guam, Australia and Kenya.
In addition, also Canada, Germany, India, Iran, Japan, Ethiopia, South Korea, Pakistan, Singapore, Brunei Darussalam, Malaysia, Myanmar, Greece, Vietnam, Srilanka, Zambia, Italy and the Philippines.
Of the 30 countries, the highest number came from Kenya and Japan with 56 runners and 48 runners each.
"The total number of foreign nationals (WNA) is around 232 runners. In our opinion, in particular, they all come from 30 countries in various parts of the world," he said.
The categories contested are Marathon (42K), Half Marathon (21K) and 10K.
