Overthrow Aliskerov, Whitakker Says Strong Like A "Hanta"
JAKARTA - New Zealand MMA fighter Robert Whittaker defeated Ikram Aliskerov as the fight only lasted 1.49 minutes in his first UFC debut in Saudi Arabia, on Saturday 22 June 2024 or Sunday morning WIB.
"I told you, I told you, I am the ghost," said Robert after his latest victory as quoted from the official mixed martial arts fighting page in Jakarta, Sunday, June 23.
Whittaker proved that he was at the level of the fight after hitting Aliskerov with a stiff left hit during the initial exchange.
The fighter nicknamed "Theploy" advanced forward with a remarkable combination, including a powerful blow that brought his opponent to the canvas.
Whittaker followed up with several more hits before referee Marc Goddard rescued the fighter from Dagestan, Russia, from further harm.
After winning in the octagon, the former UFC middleweight champion said he was the most dangerous opponent to anyone in the division.
"Because I am the best in the world. I will fight whatever, whenever, I will fight anyone," he said.
With this victory, Whittaker bounced back in a potentially competing position in the number one competing battle against fighters like Sean Totaling or maybe even playing a substitute for the middleweight title race between Dricus du Plessis and Israel Adesanya at UFC 305 in Australia on 17 August.
Whittaker said he welcomed the invitation for the next fight if offered.
"I'm healthy, I'm happy, let's do it," he concluded.
