Kevin De Bruyne: Have The Spirit To Give Everything For Belgium
JAKARTA - Kevin De Bruyne, captain of Belgium and named Vivo Player of the Match, expressed his satisfaction with his team's 2-0 win against Romania. The Belgian vs Romania match took place Saturday, June 22 at the Cologne Stadium, Cologne, on Matchday 2 in the preliminary round of Group E.
"After the first game, I'm not worried. I don't think we played badly. Obviously we made some mistakes but we created chances, even though we couldn't score. We played well tonight and I think we deserved to win, so I'm happy," said De Bruyne.
De Bruyne also highlighted how Belgium was able to bounce back after the first game. "I think the only difference between the first and now is that we can find Youri and Amadou easier and that allows us to create a 4 v 3 situation. Each formation has advantages and disadvantages and we just need to follow the coach's direction," he said.
Speaking of his future, De Bruyne stated, "I've played in this team for 10 years and I have a lot of knowledge to convey to younger players but I haven't decided when I will quit."
"We have the spirit, we have the energy. If we could have more possession that ball would be better but I would give everything. The important thing is that we create those opportunities and situations. Yes, we can solve them a little better but the important thing is we created them," De Bruyne added.
De Bruyne also praised Romelu Lukaku. "Romelu played very well today. He wasn't very selfish, as you saw when he provided an assist to Youri, but for me he had a great tournament," he said.

About his goal, De Bruyne said, "We've practiced several goal kicks. We're under a bit of pressure and I saw that kick go into the empty space, so I just need to get that touch before their goalkeeper."
