2024 Copa America: Venezuela Comeback 2-1 Beat Ecuador

JAKARTA - The Venezuelan national team managed to reap sweet results in the first matchday of the 2024 Copa America group phase. Facing Ecuador, the La Vinotinto team made a comeback with a final score of 2-1.

The meeting of the two teams, which are residents of Group B, took place at Levi's Stadium, Santa Clara on Sunday, June 23 morning WIB. Before finally turning things around, Venezuela had to work hard against Ecuador.

Even the first half match went quite hard, as can be seen from the referee's decision to issue five cards. One of them is a direct red card for Enner Valencia in the 22nd minute.

Despite the shortage of one player in the first half, the Ecuadorian national team was able to play calmly. They even won 1-0 in the 40th minute.

Taking advantage of the bouncing ball, Jeremy Sarmiento broke into the Venezuelan national team goal thanks to a shot into the lower right corner. The score lasted until the first half break.

Entering the second half, the number of players who are superior in the Venezuelan camp does not make it easy for them. To score a goal back, they even have to work hard.

Venezuelan national team supporters have to be patient until Jhonder Cadiz draws the score in the 64th minute. Utilizing the Asysis of Solomon Rondon, Jhonder then managed to draw Venezuela 1-1 over Ecuador.

Ten minutes later, Venezuela's national team took a 2-1 lead with Eduard Bello's goal which was able to take advantage of the bouncing ball in the Ecuadorian national team's penalty box.
