AGO Moves 3 Luxury Cars, Including Rolls Royce Phantom Owned By Asabri Corruption Suspect

JAKARTA - The Investigation Team of the Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) at the Attorney General's Office removed three luxury cars belonging to Jimmy Sutopo (JS), a suspect in the alleged corruption of financial management and investment funds of PT Asabri (Persero).

Head of the Legal Information Center (Kapuspenum) AGO Leonard Eben Ezer Simanjuntak, said the three luxury cars, namely the black Rolls Royce Phantom Coupe, police number B-7-EIR, Mercedes Bens type M-AMG S63 CPAT (C217CBU), and one Nissan Teana black police number B-1940-SAJ.

"The three pieces of evidence were previously deposited with the Raffles Residences Apartment Manager", Leonard said in a written statement, Tuesday, March 16.

The transfer of evidence was carried out by the AGO Jampidsus investigation team Monday, March 15th. The three luxury cars were moved and deposited back at the head office of PT. Indonesian Armed Forces Insurance (Asabri).

The Rolls Royce Phantom Coupe, which was seized by Jampidsus AGO investigators, is a luxury car with a market price of IDR 21 billion in Indonesia.

Jimmy Sutopo is the Director of PT Jakarta Emiten Investor Relations, a private party named as a suspect in the alleged corruption case of financial management and investment funds of PT Asabri along with 8 other suspects.

The eight suspects were Director of PT Asabri for the period 2011 - March 2016 (Ret.) Major General Adam Rachmat Damiri, Director of PT Asabri for the period March 2016 - July 2020 (Ret.) Lt. Gen. Sonny Widjaja, Director of Finance of PT Asabri for the period October 2008-June 2014 Bachtiar Effendi, Director of PT Asabri for the period 2013 - 2014 and 2015 - 2019 Hari Setiono, Head of the Investment Division of PT Asabri July 2012 - January 2017 Ilham W Siregar and Managing Director of PT Prima Network Lukman Purnomosidi.

Then, President Director of PT Hanson International Tbk Benny Tjokrosaputro and Commissioner of PT Trada Alam Minera Heru Hidayat. Both Benny and Heru are suspects in the corruption case at PT Asuransi Jiwasraya.

This case caused a loss of state finances amounting to IDR 23.73 trillion. The state losses, in this case, were far greater than in the Jiwasraya case.
