Talk To 27 Regional Heads, Chairman Of KPK Firli: Corruption Seizes People's Rights!

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Firli Bahuri asked regional heads, especially those in the West Java Province, to work together to eradicate corruption. You do this by implementing government governance that prioritizes efforts to prevent corruption.

This was conveyed by Firli at the Synergy Coordination and Collaboration Meeting to Eradicate Corruption in the Regional Government which took place at the Mason Pine Hotel, West Bandung.

"I invite all regents and mayors to close ranks to eradicate corruption, because corruption is a serious crime. Corruption causes the state to fail in realizing the goal of the state, namely social justice," Firli said as quoted in his written statement, Tuesday, March 16.

In addition, he reminded that corruption is not only detrimental to the country's finances and economy. "But it is part of the crime to rob the people of their rights," he said.

Still on the agenda, 27 regional heads from West Java Province who attended also signed a joint commitment in order to support an integrated corruption eradication program.

There are five forms of support in this joint commitment. First, the implementation of corruption prevention through the development of good government governance covering a number of areas such as APBD planning and budgeting; procurement of goods and services; licensing; supervision of the government internal control apparatus (APIP); state civil service management (ASN); local tax optimization; regional asset management; and financial governance.

The second implementation is carrying out the administration of Regional Property (BMD) including securing BMD through certification, and making efforts to resolve problematic BMDs through controlling and restoring regional assets.

Next is to develop innovations in the context of optimizing local taxes in an effort to explore the potential of regional taxes. Then, implement anti-corruption education at the primary and secondary education levels as well as the Regional Government Human Resources Education Agency (Pemda) with governance of educational networks with integrity.

Finally, implementing an action plan in the integrated corruption eradication program in a consistent and sustainable manner. West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil also conveyed a warning to these regional heads. He asked his subordinates, namely the Regent and Mayor, especially those who were newly appointed, to be careful in running their government.

Moreover, the newly appointed regional heads must make adjustments to their current positions.

In addition, new regional heads should not be complacent about new positions. In accordance with KPK directives, we must also focus on preventing corruption. will.
