Update On COVID-19 As Of March 16: 5.482 New Cases, Recovered Cases Increases To 7.716
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) releases the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 today. A total of 75.626 specimens were examined today. As a result, there were 5.414 new positive cases of COVID-19.
"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia reached 1.430.458 people and active cases decreased by 2.482 to 134.042 cases", the Ministry of Health was quoted as saying, Tuesday, March 16.
Cases recovered today increased by 7.716 cases so that a total of 1.257.663 people recovered. Then, the positive confirmed cases that died increased by 180 people and a total of 38.753 people.
The province with the newest cases is in West Java with 1.617 cases and a total of 234.643 cases. Followed by DKI Jakarta which has 835 new cases with a total of 362.370 cases. Central Java has 560 new cases and a total of 162.155 cases. Then, East Java has 291 new cases and a total of 135.143 cases.
The province with the most cases recovered today belongs to West Java with an increase of 2.121 recovered cases. Followed by DKI Jakarta with an increase of 1.565 recovered cases, Central Java with an increase of 1.377 recovered cases and East Java with an additional 319 recovered cases.
There is one province that reported no new cases as of today. The province that reported zero new cases was North Sulawesi.
In addition, the number of specimens that had been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigen reached 11.719.480.
"Positive results per number of specimens examined or the positivity rate today amounted to 19.71 percent", he wrote.
For the number of people suspected of having contracted COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases, it was recorded at 60.415 people. Currently, 510 districts/cities from 34 provinces have COVID-19 cases.
Furthermore, currently, there are 4.468.951 people who have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 1.716.749 vaccines for the second dose. Meanwhile, the total vaccination targets reached 40.349.051 people.
