JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) said that three regions in Bali Province, namely Ubud, Sanur, and Nusa Dua, have entered the green zone for the spread of COVID-19. Jokowi hopes that this zoning determination will make tourists feel safe if the area clearing can be carried out.
This was conveyed by President Jokowi while reviewing mass vaccinations at Ubud Royal Palace, Gianyar Regency, Bali. During this visit, Jokowi was accompanied by Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, Presidential Military Secretary Marsda M. Tonny Harjono, Paspampres Commander Maj. Gen. Agus Subiyanto, Special Staff to President Ari Dwipayana, and Deputy for Protocol, Press and Media of the Presidential Secretariat Bey Machmudin.
"In the province of Bali, we want to concentrate on the three green zones that have been determined, namely in Ubud, Sanur and Nusa Dua. We hope that this will become a green area, a green zone which later we can fully open to tourists so that they feel safe and comfortable. living in Bali, "said President Jokowi as quoted in a press conference broadcast on the Presidential Secretariat YouTube account, Tuesday, March 16.
After becoming the focus, it is hoped that these three areas can become a power plant for the tourism sector in Bali Province.
"The revival of the tourism sector in the Province of Bali will begin and we will evaluate every week how the developments are in this area and in general in the Province of Bali," he said.
Jokowi also said that the implementation of mass vaccinations that he visited was running smoothly. "The process of vaccination that has been given to public servants, religious leaders, and also some in the community, so 50 people from each of the 13 banjars are appointed and the process this afternoon is running well and smoothly," he explained.
"We hope that the vaccination process will continue until we reach the target," he added.
Previously reported, the COVID-19 vaccine program in the country since January 13. In the national COVID-19 vaccination program, the government is targeting 181.5 million vaccine targets. They are people aged 18 years and over. Vaccine recipients receive twice the injection dose.
In the first phase, the vaccine is intended for 1.5 million health workers. As of today, health workers who have received the first dose of vaccination are 73.47 percent and the second dose is 29.85 percent.
Then, in the second stage, COVID-19 vaccination is for the elderly and public service workers. The target is 21.5 million elderly and 16.9 million public workers. This program lasts until May.
They are market traders, educators, religious leaders and counselors, representatives of the people, officials, government, civil servants, TNI-Polri, tourism officers, public services, public transportation workers, athletes, and media workers.
Furthermore, vaccination will be carried out for 63.9 million vulnerable people or people living in areas with high risk of infection. Then, other communities as many as 77.7 million people. This program will be carried out from April 2021 to March 2022.
