Banten Provincial Government Forms Search Task Force 211 Missing Official Vehicles

SERANG - The Banten Provincial Government (Pemprov) formed a search task force for the acceleration of 211 official vehicles whose whereabouts were unknown.

Head of the Regional Financial and Asset Management Agency (BPKAD) of BantenRina Province, Dewiyanti, said that the formation of this task force was a follow-up to the 2023 Supreme Audit Results Report (LHP) of the Indonesian Supreme Audit Agency (BPK), which found that 211 official vehicles belonging to the Banten Provincial Government were missing or their whereabouts were unknown.

"The Banten Provincial Government will continue to carry out tracing steps on the assets of the official vehicle. Gradually the official vehicles have been identified," he said.

Of the 211 official vehicles, they have been identified as being spread over six units of the DPRD Secretariat, 18 units of Bapenda, and 60 units of the Regional Secretariat, the remaining 127 units will be searched by the inventory team and completed through the legislation mechanism.

"Some vehicles are still under the control of third parties and some vehicles are heavily damaged, but it is still recorded in KIB which is still recognized as in good condition or has not been updated," he said.

Regarding this condition, the Banten Provincial Government has updated the minutes of borrowing and using with vertical agencies, updated KIB B (Inventory Card) equipment and machinery, conducted inventory, tracing and withdrawing of official vehicles which are still controlled by third parties, and n conducted an inventory and auction process for further processing the removal of heavily damaged assets according to the provisions.

"Previously, asset governance was not as strict as current laws and regulations. Along with the improvement in governance carried out in the future, hopefully it will get better and more accountable," he said.

In addition to forming a task force, the Banten Provincial Government has also issued Circular Letter (SE) Number 21 of 2024 concerning Security and Control of Official Vehicles within the Banten Provincial Government.

"We use the findings and recommendations of the BPK as an encouragement in building a commitment to be more transparent and accountable in administering, managing assets and continuing to maintain and secure regional assets, and being responsible for the assets they control," said Rina Dewiyanti.
