President Asks Local Government To Upgrade Agricultural Systems To Smart Technology

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) asked local governments (Pemda) that have the leading agricultural sector to update their work system by utilizing smart technology.

This statement was made by President Jokowi when opening the National Working Meeting (Rakornas) for Inflation Control which was attended by regional heads from all provinces and cities/districts in a hybrid manner at the State Palace, Jakarta, Friday, June 14.

"Now is the era of technology, the era of the smart system. Continue to improve, especially in districts, we must be able to upgrade our agricultural system to become a strategic culture, especially the advantages that exist in our respective regions," said President Jokowi as quoted by ANTARA.

According to the Head of State, research and research interests in the agricultural sector must focus on leading foods.

"Doing a lot of research, all research, officials, who are seeded. Just one research, research," said President Jokowi.

According to the President, regions in Indonesia have a very long stretch and each region has a leading food sector that can be set up for piloting.

"Do research, make a pilot. Successfully in coffee. Replications, our job is that," said President Jokowi.

President Jokowi also asked local governments to invite investment to build a processing industry, so that added value of every production in agriculture and plantations appears.

"Build also an integrated distribution system, this has been carried out now by the People's Republic of China, so that the distribution system is truly integrated," said President Jokowi.
