The Hambalang Project Is Stalled In The SBY Era And Dragging The Former Democrat Elite, In The Jokowi Era Will Be Built Into An Athlete Center

JAKARTA - The government will raise the mega project for the Hambalang sports complex, which was once a corruption in the Democratic Party and is now neglected.

This was conveyed by the Minister of Youth and Sports Zainudin Amali after holding a limited meeting with President Joko Widodo (Jokowi). Zainudin said, the Hambalang sports complex will later be intended for senior athletes and athletes who are ready to compete.

"We are considering seeing Hambalang a center for senior athletes and our athletes who are ready to compete," Zainudin said in a press conference broadcast on the Presidential Secretariat YouTube account, Monday, March 15.

In addition to Hambalang, later on, the government will also build integrated training centers in various regions that will foster junior athletes. This development was carried out at the same time to support the existence of a Special Sports School (SKO) in Cibubur.

This is done by the government in an effort to foster national sports achievements that will involve various stakeholders.

"We plan to make 10 training centers in several areas and of course, we will adjust it to the existing potential and the most basic is the potential for talent in elementary school. These centers will contain our children who have the potential who have been selected by age. Junior high school, then high school age we will push to Cibubur where SKO is, "he explained.

"Of course this is a long series. Because, according to experts, a minimum of 10 years or 10,000 hours is required to achieve the achievement," he added.

It is known, the Hambalang project or known as the National Center for Education, Training and Sports School (P3SON) began construction in 2010 with PT Adhi Karya being one of the companies holding the project tender.

This project was launched during the reign of President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) and drained a budget of IDR 2.5 trillion.

It's just that, the project has not yet been completed, the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has caught up with the practice of corruption in its construction. Furthermore, a number of Democratic Party cadres became suspects in this corruption case, they were former Menpora era President SBY Andi Mallarangeng, former Operational Director of PT Adhi Karya (Persero) Teuku Bagus Mukhamad Noor, to former Democratic Party Chairman Anas Urbaningrum.

The state losses due to this project reached Rp. 706 billion and until now the buildings in the project area have stalled and are not used for anything.
