Bang Yos's Confession About The Incognito In East Timor And The Mission To Persuade GAM Members To Return Home

JAKARTA - Sutiyoso, who was born in Semarang, December 6, 1944, is the sixth of eight children. He is the son of the couple Tjitrodihardjo and Sumini. There are many interesting stories from his activities as a figure in the Indonesian military.

Long before becoming the governor of DKI Jakarta, Sutiyoso was sent to carry out a challenging task. In 1974, he was sent on a mission to East Timor. Sutiyoso was alone in East Timor in 1974 to undergo reconnaissance operations. A year later, he got a bigger assignment: to join Operation Flamboyant.

His service in the defense sector ended as Head of the State Intelligence Agency in 2016. Sutiyoso told VOI everything, including the official trip that left him most when he was Head of BIN: Persuading the Free Aceh Movement (GAM) dedengkot Din Minimi to return to his hometown without being shot and shed blood.
