MAKI Threatens To Sue In Pre-Trial Corruption Case For Land Procurement In DKI, KPK: Go Ahead, We Are Ready To Face It

JAKARTA - Coordinator of the Indonesian Anti-Corruption Society (MAKI) Boyamin Saiman has stated that he will sue the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) in pretrial, if the suspect in the corruption case of land acquisition in DKI Jakarta is not announced.

Responding to this, Acting KPK spokesman Ali Fikri said the KPK was ready to face MAKI's lawsuit.

"Please if the person concerned wants to file a pretrial lawsuit. The KPK is ready to face it, although of course for those who understand the rule of law, the object of the pretrial has been strictly determined in the applicable criminal procedural law," Ali said in a written statement to reporters, Monday, March 15.

The anti-corruption commission, he continued, understands that the public wants the land acquisition corruption case in DKI Jakarta to be resolved immediately. However, the KPK is of the opinion that every legal action must have a clear legal basis so that it cannot be carried out in a hurry.

"For the KPK, it is more important that every legal action in any form must have a legal basis," he said.

Boyamin Saiman said that his party would sue the KPK if the suspect in the corruption case of land acquisition by DKI Jakarta BUMD was not announced. He gave the KPK a deadline of 30 days to do so.

MAKI, continued Boyamin, always monitors cases that are suspected of being stalled and slow to be resolved by the KPK.

"I always file pretrial against cases that are suspected of stalling. Including, the slow determination of suspects in the bribery case for land acquisition by DKI Jakarta BUMDs," said Boyamin to reporters.

He considered that this kind of method was more effective in urging the KPK to work quickly in handling corruption cases. This is because the anti-graft commission will try to resolve the corruption case they are currently facing.

"Like it or not, the KPK has to prove the case was not stopped and what evidence is not stopped? Yes, determine the suspect and detain it," he said.

Previously reported, the KPK is currently investigating a corruption case related to land acquisition in Munjul, Pondok Ranggon Village, Cipayung, East Jakarta.

This land will later be used to build houses with a down payment or DP Rp. 0, which is a program of DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan.

Although it has not been announced, based on the summons for a witness, in this case there are four suspects who have been named by the KPK. The first suspect is the Director of the Regional Public Company Pembangunan Sarana Jaya, Yoory Corneles, who has now been retired from his position.

In addition, the KPK also named two private parties Anja Runtuwene and Tommy Ardian as suspects. Not only that, the anti-graft commission also established a corporation, namely PT Adonara Propertindo.

The four suspects, including the corporation, are suspected of violating Article 2 paragraph 1 or Article 3 of Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning Eradication of Corruption as amended by Law Number 20 of 2001 concerning amendments to Law Number 31 of 1999. regarding the Eradication of Corruption in conjunction with Article 55 Ajay 1 to 1 of the Criminal Code.

Regarding the four suspects, the KPK has yet to speak up. Because, from the start they conveyed, details of cases and suspects during the process of arresting and detaining the suspects had been carried out.
