PPP Asks Cadres To Stay Solid After Viral Video Cuts Ketum "Don't Feel Failed" Election
JAKARTA - The United Development Party (PPP) asked cadres to remain solid, after a video clip of Plt Chairman Muhammad Mardiono on social media.
"It's true, the video was a snippet of the speech at the opening of the rapidmnas in the context of the closed direction of the Acting General Chair to all participants of the Rapimnas IX," said Mardiono spokesman Imam Priyono, quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, June 12.
In the video clip with a duration of less than one minute, Plt Ketum PPP questioned where it failed in the 2024 General Election.
He regretted that the closed-door video was cut irresponsiblely, and removed the context of the entire speech from Mardiono.
"More unfortunate, because it is circulated on social media and mass media, it has the potential to cloud the atmosphere and interfere with the party's image," he said.
He explained that the context of Mardiono's full speech in a closed direction was to contemplate together and not blame each other after the 2024 General Election.
According to him, at the meeting closing speech with humility, Mardionojustru apologized on behalf of himself and as General Chair that the results of the 2024 Legislative Election did not match expectations.
"Mardiono invites all to unite to win big in the regional elections and achieve glory in the 2029 Legislative Election," he asserted.
PPP, he said, will continue to struggle both through legal channels and constitutionally, over differences in the vote count of the KPU and PPP versions, which have not yet received justice in the Constitutional Court.
