Jakarta Enters COVID-19 Emergency Response Period, Valid For 14 Days
JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan announced that DKI Jakarta was entering Emergency Response status due to the high number of positive patients with the corona virus or COVID-19 in Jakarta. This Emergency Response Status is valid for 14 days and can be extended as needed.
"After discussing together with Polda elements with Kapolda, Kodam elements with the Pangdam, as well as with the Head of the National Covid-19 Handling Acceleration Task Force, today we determine that Jakarta is the status of COVID-19 Disaster Emergency Response," said Anies at City Hall broadcast via the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government's YouTube account, Friday, March 20.
He also ordered all offices in Jakarta to be temporarily closed or to divert office activities at home, aka work from home in accordance with the Governor's call Number 6 of 2020.
"Close operational facilities and do not carry out activities in offices but carry out activities at home," he said.
"For companies that are unable to stop completely, they are asked to reduce these activities to the minimum, minimum number of employees, minimum time for activities and minimum operational facilities, as well as to encourage as many employees as possible to work from home," added Anies.
Anies also asked business actors to comply with the Minister of Manpower's Circular (SE) Number M / 3 / HK.04 / III / 2020 concerning Worker / Labor Protection and Business Continuity in the Context of Prevention and Overcoming COVID-19. So, next week office activities can be minimized.
He also asked all elements of society to increase the social distancing measure to help reduce the potential for the spread of COVID-19.
In addition, starting next week, public transportation such as the MRT, LRT and TransJakarta will also have limited operating hours. MRT will operate from 06.00-20.00 WIB with restrictions on the number of passengers. For the 6 MRT series, it can only carry 360 passengers for one trip.
TransJakarta also uses the same operating hours, starting at 06.00 WIB and closing at 20.00 WIB. Then, the night transportation will be eliminated as of Monday, March 22nd. Meanwhile, metrotrans, microtrans, RoyalTrans and border transportation will not operate until COVID-19 can be handled in the Capital City.
Furthermore, for the Jakarta LRT service, the service remains as it is currently running, which is a departure every 10 minutes. However, every passenger must maintain a social distance. This means that the minimum safe distance between passengers is one meter as recommended by WHO.
To treat these corona patients, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has prepared 17,500 doctors, 27,000 nurses and 900 public health workers to treat patients and stop the spread.
However, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has a threshold related to the number of hospitals and medical personnel that is not proportional to the increase in the number of patients infected with COVID-19.
Meanwhile, there is also sad news from medical personnel who are in charge of treating corona patients. There were 25 medical personnel who contracted COVID-19 and 1 person died.
Therefore, he asked all elements to work together to stay at home to prevent transmission of the virus. Anies, all residents of Jakarta, are aware that fighting the corona virus is a joint effort and responsibility, not only health workers.
Nationally, there are 369 positive corona patients. Meanwhile, 17 people recovered, and as many as 32 people died.
DKI Jakarta Province is the region with the highest spread of the corona virus. There were 224 positive cases recorded and 20 people died, and 13 others recovered.
