Israeli Police Died In Military Operation Release Of 4 Hostages Of Hamas Kidnapping Victims

JAKARTA - Israeli counterterrorism police officers died after being injured in an operation to rescue Israeli hostages in Gaza.

Police named Arnon Zamora were injured in an operation to release four Israeli hostages in the Nuseirat refugee camp in the Gaza Strip, Israeli police said. He died in hospital.

Zamora served as commander in the Yamam unit of the Israeli Border Police, according to a police statement, reported by CNN, Saturday, June 8.

Meanwhile, it was also reported that 107 people were reportedly killed in Israeli military operations in the central region of Gaza in Nuseirat, Deir al-Balah, and al-Zawaideh.

A spokesman for the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital said the bodies of 20 people being taken to the hospital still needed to be identified.

A CNN producer who was in hospital on Saturday, June 8, said dozens of injured people were already in medical centers.

A hospital spokesman previously said the number of injured victims was very high, making it difficult to confirm the exact number.

Israel announced it was targeting terrorist infrastructure in Nuseirat shortly before saying it was rescuing four hostages in the area.

The four hostages, namely, Noa Argamani (25), Almog Meir Jan (21), Andrey Kozlov (27), and Shlomi Ziv (40), were rescued by Israeli military, intelligence, and special forces from two separate locations in Nuseirat, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) said Saturday, June 8.

The four Israelis were kidnapped from the Nova music festival on October 7, according to the IDF.
