Minister Trenggono: Fishery Sector PNBP To Improve Port Infrastructure Quality
JAKARTA - Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries Sakti Wahyu Trenggono said that the Increase in Non-Tax State Revenue (PNBP) from the capture fisheries sub-sector to IDR 12 trillion was one of the breakthrough programs.
According to Trenggono, if the state revenue from the capture fisheries sub-sector increases, it will be easier to improve port infrastructure. Also, social assistance for fishermen, such as boat assistance, insurance, and can be increased in volume and value.
"Technically it is at the (Directorate-General) of Capture Fisheries, we have to coordinate regularly so that the program can be implemented immediately", Trenggono said in a written statement, Sunday, March 14.
Trenggono said fishery ports must have adequate infrastructure standards so that the quality of fishery production is guaranteed. Moreover, there are more than 18,445 tonnes of fish landing at Karangsong Port per 2020 or IDR 365 billion.
He said that the fish landed at the port are also in demand by the market, one of which is the sea catfish. Meanwhile, the number of ships operating there reaches 1,322 units.
That way, infrastructure improvements from additional PNBP revenues can later increase the economic turnover generated by port operations.
"This must be awakened", he said.
Meanwhile, Regent Nina Agustina welcomed the breakthrough program presented by Minister Trenggono.
"Alhamdulillah, I hope everything can run soon, because this is for the progress of Indramayu", he said.
