Still Taking Care Of IKN, Jokowi Gives Bambang Susantono's New Task
JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) gave a new position to the former Head of the Archipelago Capital Authority (IKN) Bambang Susantono. This was conveyed by Jokowi after conducting a review at the State Palace of IKN, East Kalimantan, Wednesday 5 June 2024.
Jokowi explained that Bambang will hold a new position as an envoy for international cooperation in accelerating IKN development.
"Mr. Bambang Susantono will also be given a new assignment as a special envoy for international cooperation in order to accelerate the development of IKN," Jokowi told reporters.
Jokowi acknowledged that Bambang's experience in the international world would be able to support this new task. "Because indeed his experience internationally we use as much as possible for the good of the country," he added.
However, when asked about the reasons for Bambang's resignation and Deputy Chief of OIKN Dhony Rahajoe, Jokowi did not know. Meanwhile, Jokowi has not yet decided whether to give Dhony Rahajoe a new position.
Bambang was inaugurated by Jokowi as head of OIKN in March 2022. The man who was born in Yogyakarta, November 4, 1963, has entered the government since 2007. He is trusted to serve as deputy minister for economic coordinator in the field of infrastructure coordination and regional development until 2010.

Bambang served as chairman of the Indonesian Transportation Society in 2004. Bambang was also deputy minister of transportation in 2009. He also briefly became commissioner of PT Garuda Indonesia Tbk in 2012.
After leaving the government, Bambang joined the Asian Development Bank in 2015. He served as vice president for knowledge management and sustainable development.
