Secretary General Hasto Called KPK Next Week, Hendrawan: PDIP Consistently Supports Law Enforcement

JAKARTA - Senior PDIP politician, Hendrawan Supratikno responded to the summons of PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto regarding the Harun Masiku case by the KPK. Hendrawan emphasized that PDIP has always consistently supported law enforcement which is transparent and fair. "From the first, our attitude has been consistent, supporting a transparent and fair law enforcement process," said Hendrawan when contacted, Wednesday, June 5. Thus, continued Hendrawan, the public can feel the presence of PDIP in all law enforcement efforts. He also believes that Hasto's presence as a witness can provide accurate information needed by law enforcement officials.

"Only then will the presence and crida of the party benefit the wider community," he said.

Previously, the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) planned to summon the Secretary General of the PDI-P (PDIP) Hasto Kristiyanto next week. Investigators have scheduled an investigation regarding the search for former PDIP candidate Harun Masiku, who is still at large and unknown.

"Information from the investigator's friend, it is possible that next week he will be summoned," said Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri to reporters at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Tuesday, June 4.

"But indeed we have not confirmed the time again and whether the summons will have been sent or not but has been scheduled," he continued.

Ali said Hasto's summons was related to the new information received by the anti-corruption commission regarding the whereabouts of the fugitive. Even so, he did not elaborate further on the ongoing process.

"The KPK only provides a lattice where there are parties who hide Harun. So, we continue to explore further," he said.
