Vice President Ensures Government Continues To Development In South Papua
MERAUKE - Vice President (Vice President) Ma'ruf Amin ensured that the government will continue to oversee development consolidation steps in South Papua Province as a new province in Papua.
"As a new province, of course, there are many things that must be done immediately. For this reason, the government will continue to oversee development consolidation steps for South Papua Province in the future," said the Vice President giving a speech at the event "Announcement of Development and Signing of the Inscription of the Groundbreaking of the Center for Facilities and Infrastructure of the South Papua Province Government" in Merauke Regency, South Papua, quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, June 4.
The Vice President stated that the presence of South Papua Province, which is on the border between Indonesia and Papua New Guinea, will encourage the economic movement of the community and region as well as bring public services closer to people in remote border areas.
Currently, the Vice President continued, the government is ready to launch the 2022-2041 Papua Development Acceleration Master Plan (RIPPP) with three main missions, namely Healthy Papua, Smart Papua, and Productive Papua.
"This RIPPP will serve as a guideline for all stakeholders in designing Papua's development priority programs," said the Vice President.
In the framework of the RIPPP, said the Vice President, the government will continue to encourage South Papua Province as a national food center in eastern Indonesia.
In addition, the government must continue to improve the economic sector by exploring regional tourism potentials such as historical tourism at Boven Digoel and the Asmat Festival to become world-class tourist destinations.
On that occasion, the Vice President also conveyed several messages to accelerate the development of South Papua Province in the future.
First, sharpening programs and comprehensive measures by highlighting the potential and uniqueness of the South Papua Province area at the national border.
"The aspirations of the people of South Papua to build a large house as a place to live have been realized at this time. However, there is still a big responsibility in front of us, namely to make this new house emit the light of prosperity, peace, and justice in eastern Indonesia," he said.
Next second, make the central area of the South Papua Province not only a physical support for the function of government, but also a driving axis for accelerating the development of South Papua Province.
"This area must be a driving force for the development of green open spaces, driving social activities that are inclusive as well as a policy preparation center that increases economic connectivity between regions in South Papua Province," said the Vice President.
Furthermore, third, increase collaboration, synergy, and cooperation between ministries/agencies and local governments so that they continue to actively ensure that the stages of development preparation run well.
