Budisatrio Djiwandono Denies Running For Jakarta Gubernatorial Election, Gerindra Considers Other Internal Cadres
JAKARTA - The daily chairman of Gerindra, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, denied that his party had not received a single vote regarding the nomination of the Deputy Chairperson of the Gerindra Party, Budisatrio Djiwandono as governor in the 2024 Jakarta Pilkada. The speculation arose after Budi dismissed the news that he would run in the 2024 Jakarta gubernatorial election (Pilgub) with the youngest son of President Joko Widodo, Kaesang Pangarep. Dasco explained, a poster depicting Budisatrio-Kaesang for the 2024 Jakarta Pilkada was only to test public interest or wave tests. Just as he sounded the Budi-Raffi Ahmad pair. "So for the DKI Pilkada there are indeed many aspirations, so if I am conveyed by friends or cadres for example the proposal of this couple, say Budi and Raffi I then upload it for water tests. Including Mas Budi and Kaesang," said Dasco at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Tuesday, June 4. Dasco admitted that Budi had been ordered by the General Chair Prabowo Subianto to continue the struggle in Parliament. It is known that Budi currently serves as Deputy Chairman of Commission IV DPR. "But in his development, Mas Budi Djiwandono has already spoken to us, including Pak Prabowo, he wants to focus on the parliament alone," said Dasco. Dasco said. Dasco stated that his party still considers its own cadre to be carried in the upcoming Jakarta gubernatorial election. The figure, he said, comes from young people." There are still more internal cadres being considered. Later it will be submitted to the public," said the Deputy Speaker of the DPR.

When asked whether Gerindra would consider the name of PSI Chairman Kaesang Pangarep for the Jakarta Pilkada, Dasco said, his party still wanted internal cadres. "So until now there has been no communication either, and yesterday we were still focused because after Mas Budi stated that he did not want to run in the DKI Pilkada, we then opened the option of other internal cadres," he concluded.
