Determine Eid Al-Adha 2024, Ministry Of Religion Monitors Hilal At 144 Points In The Country

JAKARTA - The Indonesian Ministry of Religion (Kemenag) will hold an Isbat Session to determine the beginning of Eid al-Adha Zulhijah 1445 H which begins with monitoring of the hilal at 114 points in Indonesia on 7 June.

"The implementation of hilal monitoring will be carried out at 114 location points throughout Indonesia. The implementation will be carried out by the Regional Office of the Ministry of Religion and the Ministry of Religion/City, in collaboration with the Religious Courts and Islamic Organizations, as well as other agencies in each region," said Director of Islamic Religious Affairs and Sharia Development, Ministry of Religion of the Republic of Indonesia Adib quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, June 4. On the day of rukyat, said Adib, the height of the hilal throughout Indonesia over the horizon ranges from 7 15,82 (seven degrees fifteen and twenty-two minutes) to 10 41.09 (tens of one degree and one nine-minute zone) and an elongation angle of 11 34.83 (seven years and forty-four-degrees and eight-minutes) to 13 14.47 (twelveteen degrees fourteen-minutes - forty-minutes). He continued that the results of hilal monitoring will be discussed in the initial Isbat Session of Zulhijah 1445 H.Sidang Isbat, said Adib, are a form of synergy between the Ministry of Religion and Islamic Organizations and related agencies in decision making. "Sidang Isbat is a form of togetherness between the Ministry of Religion and Islamic Organizations and related agencies in making decisions, the results are expected to be carried out together," he said.

The initial Isbat Session of Zulhijah 1445 H will be held at the Auditorium of the Office of the Ministry of Religion of the Republic of Indonesia, Jakarta, and attended by a number of Ambassadors of friendly countries, Chairman of Commission VIII DPR RI, Supreme Court, Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI), and the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG).

In addition, the Isbat Session will also be attended by the Geospatial Information Agency (BIG), the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN), Bosscha Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB), Planetarium, Falak Experts from Islamic Organizations, Institutions and related agencies, the Rukyat Hisab Team, and the leaders of Islamic Community Organizations and Islamic Boarding Schools.
