After Mediation, Komnas HAM Calls Residents Willing To Release Kampung Susun Bayam
JAKARTA - The National Human Rights Commission (Komnas HAM) has mediated former residents of Kampung Bayam with PT Jakarta Propertindo and the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government regarding the Bayam Susun Village (KSB) polemic.
Komnas HAM Commissioner Prabianto Mukti Wibowo said the mediation that was held on Monday, June 3 resulted in an agreement between residents and Jakpro as the BUMD managing KSB.
"The Peace Agreement was signed by the parties to be carried out with full responsibility," Prabianto said in a short message, Tuesday, June 4.
As a result, residents affected by the eviction from the construction of the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) were willing to release KSB as their residence. Previously, residents insisted on demanding their right to stay at KSB.
"Residents are willing to be relocated to the flats that will be prepared by the DKI Provincial Government," said Prabianto.
Then, Jakpro also promised to help residents by providing training and job opportunities for those who meet the requirements.
"Training to improve the skills of citizens in productive economic activities, including agro-industrials and other fields that are in demand and in accordance with the type of work that supports Jakpro/JIS activities," he explained.
Furthermore, the mediated parties also agreed to maintain a conducive situation in the field. One of them prevents clashes from happening again at KSB.
"The peace agreement began to be signed," said Prabianto.
KSB was founded since the leadership of former DKI Governor Anies Baswedan. When inaugurated in October 2022, Anies promised KSB to become a residence for residents affected by the eviction of JIS development.
However, residents of Kampung Bayam and PT Jakpro did not find an agreement regarding the KSB rental rate. The dead end continued until the leadership was replaced by the Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono.
