The Figure Of Bambang Susantono, Just As Head Of The IKN Authority For 2 Years And Officially Resigns Today

JAKARTA - Head of the Capital Archipelago Authority (IKN) Bambang Susantono resigned in the midst of the planned groundbreaking activity for the sixth phase which will be carried out on June 4-5, 2024.

Before becoming the Head of OIKN since 2022, Bambang was known as an expert in the transportation sector.

Based on VOI's search on his official LinkedIn account, Monday, June 3, he started his career in transportation.

He once occupied the position of Chairman of the Indonesian Transportation Society (MTI).

This graduate of the Faculty of Civil Engineering at the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) 37 years ago initially worked at the Public Works Department.

In 1996, Bambang won a master's degree in urban planning and territory at the University of California, Berkeley with a Cumulative Achievement Index (IPK) of 3.7.

With this expertise, Bambang also held the position of Deputy Coordinating Minister for the Economy for the Coordination of Infrastructure and Regional Development in 2007-2010.

Furthermore, Bambang was appointed Deputy Minister of Transportation in the United Indonesia Cabinet II for the 2010-2014 period.

After not serving as Deputy Minister of Transportation, he focused on careers abroad.

His career began when he was trusted to hold the position of Vice President of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) in July 2015-April 2022.

At ADB, Bambang also oversees the development of ADB's flagship publications and reports on indicators of Asian development, Asian development outlook, and economic indicators. Bambang's position in ADB replaces Bindu Lohani, who has entered retirement.

Thanks to his qualified experience, Bambang was called back to work in government.

He was inaugurated as Head of OIKN on March 22, 2022.

Bambang led IKN accompanied by his deputy, Dhony Rahajoe.

However, after two years in office, Bambang decided to resign from his position.

The resignation letter has been received by the President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo (Jokowi).

"Mr. President (Jokowi) also received a letter of resignation letter from Mr. Bambang Susantono as Head of the IKN Authority. Today a Presidential Decree (Keppres) has been issued regarding the honorable dismissal of Mr. Bambang Susantono as Head of the IKN Authority and also Mr. Doni Rahayu as Deputy Head of the IKN Authority," said Minister of State Secretary (Mensesneg) Pratikno as quoted from the Presidential Secretariat's YouTube, Monday, June 3.

Meanwhile, Jokowi has appointed the Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) as the Acting Head of the IKN Authority and Deputy Minister of ATR/BPN Raja Juli Antoni to be the Acting Deputy Head of the IKN Authority starting today.
