Wife Of Mayor Gibran Selvi Ananda Asks PKK Cadres To Move To Handle Stunting
SOLO - The wife of Solo Mayor Gibran Rakabuming Raka, Selvi Ananda, asked PKK cadres to spearhead the health of pregnant women and toddlers.
This message was conveyed regarding the choice of Surakarta City as a pilot area for the family data collection program and the reduction in stunting rates by the BKKBN. This is because the stunting rate, including the death of pregnant women in the city, is one of the lowest in Indonesia.
"We are determined to focus more on managing the health of pregnant women and toddlers so that the stunting rate will decrease. As a result, children will grow smarter and mothers are also healthy," said Selvi Ananda, quoted from the statement of the Surakarta City Government, Friday, March 12.
Selvi reminded the nation's future generations from mothers. To achieve this, it is necessary to prioritize reducing stunting caused by malnutrition.
According to him, stunting is very dangerous to affect organ health, intelligence and disease susceptibility.
"An understanding must be opened, mothers become the forerunners of the nation's next generation. So stunting must be prevented," said Selvi.
There are a number of ways to prevent stunting, including avoiding early marriage, parenting for 1,000 days of age children with exclusive breastfeeding, health checks at least 4 times including taking pregnancy classes.
