Praised By WHO, Minister Of Health: Hopefully In The Future There Will Be Indonesians Elected To Lead WHO
The leadership of the Minister of Health (Menkes) Budi Gunadi Sadikin who brought close relations between Indonesia and WHO received appreciation from the Director General of the World Health Organization (WHO), Tedros Ghebreyesus.
"I want to thank Indonesia, for giving us the figure of Budi Gunadi Sadikin. He is great, he is extraordinary, and we work closely with him, we are very proud of him," Tedros said through Budi Gunadi Sadikin's post on the Instagram account of the Indonesian Ministry of Health, in Jakarta, as reported by ANTARA, Saturday, June 1.
Tedros appreciated Minister of Health Budi's efforts to focus on health strategies on preventing people from falling ill or keeping people healthy through promotive and preventive programs in Indonesia.
In his chat with Minister of Health Budi on the sidelines of The Walk the Talk: Health for All Challenge in the context of the 77th World Health Assembly (WHA) in Geneva, Switzerland, Tedros conveyed a number of tips in managing healthy life for 280 million Indonesians.
"To stay healthy, you can create health starting from home by maintaining health at home. If you feel there are health problems, you can go to the hospital," he said.
People can start with a healthy lifestyle, such as exercising regularly, avoiding and quitting smoking habits, to maintaining nutritional intake for the body.
"From this behavior, you can maintain a healthy life. Hospitals are to improve, so before you get sick, take care of your health," said Tedros.

As is known, Minister of Health Budi was present as a speaker at the 77th World Health Assembly (WHO) held in Geneva, Switzerland, from 27 May to 1 June 2024.
In a statement, Budi hopes that more Indonesians from among governments and non-governments in the country will actively contribute to various world health institutions.
"Hopefully one day there will be Indonesian people who can lead world health organizations like WHO," he concluded.
