This Is An Effort By The Ministry Of Transportation To Strengthen The Security And Smoothness Of International Flights

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (Ditjen Hubud) of the Ministry of Transportation seeks to continue to strengthen the security and smooth transportation of people and goods on international flights.

Director of Aviation Security of the Directorate General of Hubud of the Ministry of Transportation Budhi K Kresna Direk in a statement in Jakarta, Saturday said that one of the efforts to strengthen the security and smooth running of international flights was to hold a hybrid meeting of the National Air Facilitation Committee (Komnas FAL).

"The task of the National Air Facilitation Committee is to coordinate airport FALs to ensure the smooth transportation activities of people and goods for increased security and smooth international flights," Budhi said, quoted by ANTARA, Saturday, June 1.

Budhi said that the Komnas FAL meeting is a routine agenda that is carried out every year by involving ministries/agencies such as the Ministry of Law and Human Rights, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Agriculture and aviation stakeholders such as Custom.

Furthermore, Immigration, Quarantine (CIQ), operators of international airports, to air transport operators serving international flights.

He mentioned that several issues discussed at the meeting were related to flights, such as the ICAO USAP-CMA audit agenda in Indonesia which was scheduled for June 24-24, 2024, with on-site observations at Soekarno-Hatta Airport and Juanda Airport.

In addition, health quarantine procedures as well as facilities and infrastructure for immigration checkpoints were also discussed.

Next, the plan to carry out Saudi Arabia's customs checks for Hajj pilgrims at departure airports is valid in 2025, as well as the Change of the Nomenclature of the Port Health Office (KKP) to the UPT for Health Quarantine.

"The results of the Komnas FAL meeting will be reported to the Minister of Transportation (Budi Karya Sumadi)," he said.

Budhi added that the ministries and institutions dealing with FAL have their own regulations and the Ministry of Transportation as the coordinator will adjust each of these regulations.

"And help socialize to aviation operators, so that they can increase synergy with all related parties," he concluded.
