Inaugurating The Bangkinang-Pangkalan Toll Road, Jokowi: Spending A Budget Of IDR 4.8 Trillion

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) inaugurated the Pekanbaru-Padang Toll Road for the Bangkinang-Pangkalan Koto Kampar section in Riau.

The construction of the toll road cost Rp4.8 trillion.

"Alhamdulillah, today the Pekanbaru-Padang Toll Road section of Bangkinang-Pangkalan phase 1, namely Bangkinang-Koto Kampar has been completed. With a length of 24.7 kilometers (km) that we have built since 2019-2024, spending a budget of IDR 4.8 trillion has been completed and can be used," Jokowi said at the inauguration as seen on the Presidential Secretariat's YouTube, on Friday, May 31.

Jokowi said the toll road was part of the Trans Sumatra Toll Road (JTTS). He hopes that the toll road will continue to connect.

"This toll road is part of the fin of the Trans Sumatra Toll Road which we hope will continue to be connected year after year, from Pekanbaru to Padang City. So, the mobility of goods is even faster and we can compete with other countries," he said.

In addition, Jokowi also inaugurated the repair of regional roads in Riau. The 63 km regional road inpresum spent a total budget of IDR 369 billion.

"The second is related to regional roads in Riau Province, which have been built and repaired for 10 63 km of roads and spent a budget of IDR 369 billion and was also completed," he said.

He asked the local regional head to make the regional presidential road connected to productive areas.

Thus, the repair will bring benefits to the mobility of people and goods.

"I only leave it to the governors, regents and mayors who are present so that the toll roads that have been completed are planned, designed to be connected to productive areas, agricultural areas, plantation areas, tourism areas. So, there are really benefits for the people for regional economic growth and also the mobility of people and goods can be faster. So, we can compete with other countries in the world," he added.
