OPM Returns To Action, Ojek Driver In Puncak Jaya Dies
JAYAPURA - Head of the Cartenz Peaceful Public Relations Task Force Adjunct Senior Commissioner of Police Bayu Suseno reported that the armed criminal group (KKB) or the Free Papua Organization (OPM) led by Bumi Wolo shot a resident of Mulia, Puncak Jaya Regency, and died on Thursday, May 30.
The shooting incident that killed a resident named Zainul, a motorcycle taxi driver, occurred in Kampung Expel, Mulia District, Puncak Jaya Regency, Central Papua.
"The victim suffered a gunshot wound to the head," explained Head of the Cartenz Peaceful Public Relations Task Force AKBP Bayu Suseno in a written statement quoted by ANTARA, Friday, May 31.
He explained, from the report received, it was revealed that the witness reported to the Puncak Jaya Police regarding the shooting in the village of Expel.
The victim was found lying in front of Herman's stall and his wife, Rahmadani, who asked for help to call the ambulance. "The victim was then evacuated to Mulia Hospital," said Bayu.
The Head of the Puncak Jaya Police, AKBP Kuswara, separately said that to provide a sense of security for the community, his party held a patrol.
In addition, officers are still investigating to find out the KKB members who shot the residents.

The police chief also asked residents to be vigilant, especially when doing activities outside the home, including when delivering passengers for those who work as motorcycle taxi drivers.
"Hopefully the alert and the patrols that are encouraged can provide a sense of security for the community," said Kuswara.
