COVID-19 Update As Of March 12: 6.412 New Cases, Recovered Cases Increasing To 6.851

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) releases the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 today. A total of 56.918 specimens were examined today. As a result, there were 6.412 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia reached 1.410.134 people and 140.451 active cases", data quoted from the Ministry of Health, Friday, March 12.

Today's cases have increased to 6.851 cases so that a total of 1.231.454 people have recovered. Then, the positive confirmed cases who died increased by 180 people and a total of 38.229 people.

The province with the newest cases is in DKI Jakarta with 1.873 cases and a total of 357.742 cases. Followed by West Java which has 1.357 new cases with a total of 229.634 cases. Central Java has 497 new cases and a total of 160.559 cases. Then, Banten has 484 new cases and a total of 31.579 cases.

The province with the most cases recovered today belongs to West Java with an increase of 2.482 recovered cases. Followed by DKI Jakarta with an increase of 1.060 cases recovered, Central Java with an increase of 758 recovered cases, and East Kalimantan with an increase of 366 cases recovered.

There is one province that reported zero new cases as of today. The province that reported zero new cases was Southeast Sulawesi.

In addition, the number of specimens that had been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigen reached 11.481.307.

"Positive results per number of specimens examined or the positivity rate today amounted to 18.41 percent", he wrote.

For the number of people suspected of having contracted COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases, it was recorded at 62.883 people. Currently, 510 districts/cities from 34 provinces have COVID-19 cases.

Furthermore, currently, there are 3.769.174 people who have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 1.339.362 vaccines for the second dose. Meanwhile, the total vaccination targets reached 40.349.051 people.
