Qin L Officially Launches, Marks New Era BYD In PHEV Technology
JAKARTA - BYD officially launched the latest plug-in hybrid sedan (PHEV), Qin L DM-i, in Xian, China on May 28, 2024. The launch also marks the debut of fifth-generation DM technology (DM 5.0) BYD used in the car.
Apart from Qin L, BYD also introduced Seal 06 DM-i, the twin car of Qin L built on the same platform.
The DM 5.0 technology that is innovative and claimed by BYD is 2 generations superior to the technology currently owned by competitors. This new PHEV system optimizes the work between gasoline engines and electric motors, thereby increasing overall efficiency by 46.06 percent so that fuel consumption is only 2.9L per 100km. This means that it allows the reach of PHEV 2100 km in both cars launched by Qin L and Seal 06. Interestingly, with DM 5.0 technology the cost of car production is also efficient.
Launching CarNewsChina, May 29, for Qin L is part of the DYnasty BYD series and adopts a new "national wave dragon face" aesthetic. This car has a "Qin" character on the front underlined by the chrom bar, with a large grip underneath. Interestingly, Qin L still uses the conventional door handle.
The firm waist line stretches from the front side to the back door. On the back, the back lamp forms a continuous flow from one side to another, said to be inspired by a traditional Chinese knot.
The Qin dimension L is almost the same as that of Seal 06 DM-i, with the main difference being the larger Qin L width. This car has dimensions of length 4830 mm, width of 1900 mm, and height of 1495 mm, as well as wheelbase of 2790 mm. It should be noted that Qin L is bigger than Qin Plus.
BYD claims that its interior is inspired by Chinese views and features various Chinese knot elements. Compared to Seal 06, Qin L's interior looks simpler. Around the gear transfer button there are a number of physical buttons to control the function.
This car is equipped with a 15.6-inch medium infotainment display that can be played and an 8.8-inch LCD instrument display. Standard features include 6 airbags, ETC, cell phone NFC keys, automatic air conditioning, one-touch window controls for driver side windows, tire pressure monitoring systems, and a minimum of six speakers.
Higher variants offer additional features such as panoramic sunset, DiPilot L2 driver assistance system, electrically regulateable front passenger seat, dashcam, 18-inch rim, 8-speaker sound system, as well as seat heating and ventilation.
