Sebastian Vettel Sells 8 Supercars, The Total Price Is IDR 100 Billion
JAKARTA - Sebastian Vettel is known for his collection of supercars. However, this year he decided to sell some of them. It is known that this has nothing to do with Vettel's move to Aston Martin.
The four-time F1 World Champion with Red Bull has had a tough time at Michael Schumacher's former home. He finished no higher than second in his first four seasons and dropped to 13th in 2020.
After confirming a move to the renamed F1 Racing Point team, the 33-year-old sold several of his cars, some of which were worth more than £ 1 million.
As well as the 2016 LaFerrari, 2015 Ferrari 458, and one of only 400 Ferrari Enzo cars ever built, Vettel has also parted ways with the Mercedes SLS and BMW Z8 Roadster in an attempt to empty its garage.
"The reason is to give a little space. I am very busy, so I do not have time to enjoy and go around doing nothing, so there is no big secret," said Vettel as quoted by the Daily Star, Friday, March 12.
"The whole last year was a challenge and I thought a lot about it and I was not happy with the results," he continued.
"But I have accepted it and have lived it and I have no regrets. In the end, I am really looking forward to this year."
It is known that the price of each Vettel car sold is; £ 1.5 million (IDR30 billion) for the 2016 LaFerrari, £ 350,000 (IDR7 billion) for the 2015 Ferrari 458 Speciale, and £ 725,000 (IDR14.5 billion) for the 2016 Ferrari F12TDF.
Then, 1.3 million pounds (Rp.26 billion) for the 1996 Ferrari F50 and 450 thousand pounds (Rp9 billion) for the 2004 Ferrari Enzo.
Meanwhile for the 2002 BMW Z8 Roadster, the price is 175 thousand pounds (Rp3.5 billion), then the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG 2010 is 275 thousand pounds (5.5 billion IDR), and the Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG Black Series 2009 175 thousand pounds (Rp. 5 billion).
It is estimated that the selling price of these 8 supercars reaches Rp. 100 billion.
