In The Footsteps Of Anies Baswedan In The DKI Regional Election, Calling Ahok The Governor Is Desperate When Doubting The House Of Rp.

JAKARTA - The heated debate between Anies Baswedan and Basuki Tjahaja Purnama alias Ahok went viral on social media again following allegations of corruption in the procurement of land for down payment (DP) of Rp0.

In a 2.02-second video clip on Metro TV's Mata 'Mata Najwa' program which aired on March 28, 2017, Ahok is seen questioning Anies's Rp0 rupiah DP home program.

Ahok doubts that Anies's program will be realized because of the large budget that the DKI Provincial Government has to spend.

"Earlier you said that there are millions of millennial children who need houses, then people want to sell houses. I think people want to sell houses, ladies and gentlemen, want to sell houses for Rp. 300 million. Here, one million young people need a house, and the government wants to help him so that you don't need a down payment, you don't have to (pay) interest, pay in installments with the government, "

"For Rp350 million times one million houses (equal to, red) Rp350 trillion. Where is the money from? That's what I mean. By the way, it's easy, many want to sell houses, there is no money to buy," said Ahok in the DKI Regional Election debate. Jakarta second round.

Upon Ahok's statement, Anies answered casually. He stood up and faced the audience.

"The choice is simple. The governor (Ahok) who is desperate to see this reality, or the governor who is looking for a solution see that reality,"

"This means that it can be resolved (DP Program Rp0), because of that there are banks, therefore there is a modern financial mechanism. So don't worry too much about that," Anies added.

The debate event guide Najwa Shihab then gave Ahok 30 seconds to answer Anies's statement. According to Ahok, it is impossible for banks to provide loans without DP or interest. The principle of the bank is to seek profit.

"That's why my solution is a salary of Rp. 3 million, we have subsidized living in our flat for life. Those who earn Rp. 7 million are left with the boarding style model, which is above Rp. 10 million we just sell to them. So there is a solution," said Ahok.

Responding to Ahok's answer, Anies expressed his concern about partisanship. He is optimistic that a solution will emerge if there is partiality. The government, he continued, could bear the interest from the DP house program of Rp. 0 because it refers to the regulation of the Governor of BI (Bank Indonesia) if this is a program of the central or regional government.

"So, the problem here is partiality. Once we take sides, we get a solution," said Anies.

Ahok was still confused by Anies's answer. Buying 1 million homes for Rp.350 trillion is confusing.

"I am a financial person, I am a bit confused too, the APBN is Rp. 2,000 trillion. If we buy one million houses for Rp. 350 trillion, this is what we want to build, let alone us, for houses. Then people can sell this house again," said Ahok hearing Anies' answer.

"Already, I think the solution we provide. I don't like lying to people for the Pilkada, I have to be honest," said Ahok.

There were a number of turmoil in the running of the Rp 0 DP House program. In February 2020, Head of the DKI Jakarta Public Housing and Settlement Area Office Kelik Indriyanto resigned from his post. The reason is that the construction and the number of recipient units are still far from the target.

During Anies' more than three years of leadership, this program has not gone well. The realization of new housing was built in one location in the Pondok Kelapa area, East Jakarta.

Based on data from the DKI Housing Agency as of November 9, 2020, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has only distributed home ownership credit (KPR) for the DP home program of IDR 0 to 514 registered residents.

In fact, the target number of DP houses of Rp0 that must be built during the leadership of DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan is 232,214 units. In fact, the number of applicants for the Rp 0 DP house is quite high. Unfortunately, many applicants do not pass the verification.

On average, they fail to qualify to have a DP House of Rp. 0 because they are stuck in file verification at Bank DKI. Even though the monthly salary has passed the requirements, namely Rp. 4-7 million per month, it turns out that there are other installments that are burdensome. It is feared that the prospective owner will not be able to pay in installments regularly.
