Prosecutor's Office Names 8 Suspects Of Corruption In Student Practical Equipment At The West Sumatra Education Office

The West Sumatra High Prosecutor's Office (Kejati) has named eight suspects in the alleged corruption case in the procurement of practical tools for Vocational High School (SMK) students at the local provincial Education Office.

"Today we have officially named eight people as suspects in the alleged corruption case in the procurement of vocational school tools at the West Sumatra Education Office," said Assistant for Special Crimes at the West Sumatra Attorney General's Office Hadiman in Padang as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, May 28.

He said the determination of the suspect in the case was carried out after the West Sumatra Prosecutor's Investigation Team pocketed two valid pieces of evidence in the case.

The suspects are R as the Budget User Authority (KPA) in the project, RA as the Technical Implementation Officer (PPTK), both are ASN at the West Sumatra Education Office.

The other suspects are SA as ASN SMK, and DRS as Head of the Service Procurement Work Unit (UKPBJ) when the case occurred.

Meanwhile, the other five suspects are the procurement partner group, namely E (Director of CV Bunga Tri Dara), Su (Deputy Director of CV Bunga Tri Dara), Sy (Director of Global Innovation), BA (Director of Sikabaluan Jaya Mandiri).

The last is DI as Director of PT Indotek Sentral Karya which is the provider of the Tourism Sector, but the suspect is known to have died.

"After being announced as a suspect, we will then summon the eight people to come and be examined on Friday (31/5)," he explained.

In that case, it was found that there was a conspiracy that was initiated by SA and DRS so that the winners of the auction were determined.

The project is the procurement of practical equipment for vocational students at the West Sumatra Provincial Education Office for the 2021 fiscal year with a total budget of IDR 18 billion.

"Then the PPTK and PPA are suspected of ignoring the Procedures for determining the Temporary Estimated Price (HPS) for goods held in the project," he said.

Based on a calculation conducted by the West Sumatra Prosecutor's Internal Auditor, it is known that the state losses incurred as a result of the case amounted to Rp5.5 billion.

With details on the Maritime Sector amounting to Rp472,012,774, the Tourism Sector is Rp2,131,494,705, the Holticulture Sector is Rp1,448,876,892, and the Industrial Sector is Rp1,469,695,466.
