Stay Comfortable In Ordering Food During The COVID-19 Pandemic
JAKARTA - The government has urged the public to reduce outdoor activities during the last few days. This was done in order to reduce the number of spread of the corona virus or COVID-19 in the country.
Due to the need to reduce activities outside the home, not a few people use food delivery services such as Grab to meet their daily needs, as well as deliver goods.
However, in the midst of the current emergency situation, the spread of COVID-19 can occur through anyone and via anything. In order to protect driver partners and customers from being infected with the virus, Grab Indonesia introduced a new feature, "Contactless Ordering" on the GrabFood and GrabExpress services.
For this reason, Grab shares tips so that customers can safely use the GrabFood and GrabExpress services comfortably without the need to come into contact with driver partners. Here are the tips.
1. Inform the delivery partner to place orders outside the door or a certain location such as a building reception if permitted by the management of the building concerned.
2. The delivery partner will notify the customer when they have arrived at the delivery location, place the order at the designated place and wait for the customer to pick up the order where they will be standing at least 2 meters from the order.
3. Endeavored customers to use non-cash payment methods. If the use of cash is unavoidable, the customer can put the money in an envelope and place it in a pre-determined order place.
4. If you feel that this method is not safe, customers can wear masks and gloves when taking food and goods from driver partners.
5. After finishing the transaction, you should wash your hands, even if there is no direct contact, to ensure your own safety.
Grab Indonesia acknowledges that this step is an aid to the community so they are not exposed to COVID-19. According to the Managing Director of Grab Indonesia, Neneng Goenadi, his party continues to socialize the right way to interact with customers to provide the best service.
"We have put in place various additional preventive measures and support packages to protect the health, welfare and survival of their (Grab customers and partners)," said Neneng in an official statement received by VOI.
Not only that, as an additional step so as not to be infected with COVID-19, Grab Indonesia has also appealed to all GrabKitchen staff and merchants to maintain their health condition before starting work. This includes readiness before taking or delivering food orders to customers.
Through the GrabKitchen feature, there is a Take Itself feature that allows customers to directly order and pick up their food without having to queue. This feature is an alternative to minimize contact following social distancing recommendations.
