BI Boss Ensures Hajj Implementation Will Not Disrupt Domestic US Dollar Needs
JAKARTA Governor of Bank Indonesia (BI) Perry Warjiyo ensured that the implementation of the Hajj would not interfere with foreign currency (foreign currency) needs, especially domestic dollars. Because, the central bank has been taking into account the supply and demand of dollars since the beginning of the year.
As is known, the operational costs for organizing Hajj are mostly paid using foreign currencies such as riyals and US dollars.
"BI ensures that the need for the Hajj variety is already there and we have planned it from the start. It has been included in the planning, managing foreign exchange reserves in how we carry out an assessment of an exchange rate," Perry said in a press statement, Wednesday, May 22.
In addition to the need for foreign currency for the pilgrimage, BI has also prepared and taken into account the need for foreign currency for payment of government debt, PT Pertamina (Persero), PT PLN (Persero), and other BUMN debt payments.
