DKI Provincial Government Has No Odd Even May 23-24
JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency (Dishub) canceled the odd-even motorized vehicle system in Jakarta on Thursday, May 23 and Friday, May 24, 2024.
Head of DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency, Syafrin Liputo, said that the elimination of odd-even today coincided with Vesak Day and collective leave.
"It's odd, starting May 23-24, Thursday-Friday, is abolished. Due to holidays, according to the governor's regulation, it will be abolished," Syafrin told reporters, Tuesday, May 21.
Syafrin said that the determination of this holiday was based on the Joint Decree of the Minister of Religion, the Minister of Manpower, and the Minister of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform of the Republic of Indonesia Number 855 of 2023, Number 3 of 2023, Number 4 of 2023 concerning National Holidays and Joint Leave in 2024; and
Meanwhile, Article 3 Paragraph (3) of Gubernu Regulation Number 88 of 2019 states that traffic restrictions with the odd-even system are not enforced on Saturdays, Sundays and national holidays which are stipulated by the president's decision.
"We are advised by vehicle drivers to always comply with existing traffic signs, prioritize road safety and follow the directions of officers in the field," he said.

It is known, the odd-even system is enforced from Monday to Friday which is divided into two sessions, where the first session is enforced from 06.00 WIB to 10.00 WIB. While the second session is enforced from 16.00 WIB to 21.00 WIB.
Drivers who violate the odd-even rule will be subject to a maximum fine of IDR 500,000 in accordance with Article 287 paragraph 1 of Law Number 22 of 2009 concerning Road Traffic and Transportation.
