Tumpak: The KPK Period Now Is Very UnWearing!

JAKARTA - Chairman of the KPK Supervisory Board, Tumpak Hatorangan Panggabean, said that many unpleasant things occurred in the current KPK era.

This was conveyed by him in response to the report of the KPK Supervisory Board to the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police by the Deputy Chairperson of the KPK, Nurul Ghufron. Initially, Tumpak said he was not afraid of the resistance being carried out because they had followed the laws and regulations in the ongoing ethics process.

"We answered all of them we faced (reports to Bareskrim by Nurul Ghufron, ed). Aren't you afraid, aren't you afraid anyway," Tumpak told reporters at the ACLC KPK building, Rasuna Said, South Jakarta, Tuesday, May 21.

Tumpak said that this report was an unpleasant event and had to be experienced by the KPK Supervisory Board. In fact, they only work according to the KPK Law.

"I am frankly saying, I have also been at the KPK for a long time, this is the most unpleasant. These are the events that are currently happening, the current period is not very pleasant," he said.

"I am the first KPK person, I honestly say this is uncomfortable. After all this year we have worked at the KPK, if I was called by the police it was the first time I was heard by the police," continued Tumpak.

As previously reported, the Deputy Chairperson of the KPK, Nurul Ghufron, reported the KPK Supervisory Board to the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Police. The report was recorded with the number LP/B/138/V/2024/SPKT/Bareskrim Polri on May 6.

There are two articles that Ghufron complained about because they were deemed violated by the KPK Council in the ethics process related to allegations of abuse of authority because they helped transfer employees at the Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan). Namely Article 310 of the Criminal Code and Article 421 of the Criminal Code.

Meanwhile, Ghufron chose to report the KPK Council because they were considered to have destroyed their good name and family. "Before the examination, it was reported and it not only hurt and attacked my good name, the good name of my family, and the people who were bound to have a relationship with me were also sick," he told reporters at the KPK's Red and White House, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Monday, May 20.

Ghufron also felt that the KPK Supervisory Board seemed to force allegations of ethical violations. In fact, since the beginning the ethical process did not have to go to trial because it had expired.

Moreover, Ghufron has also submitted an objection through a written message to the KPK Supervisory Board. "So once again persuasively, I have conveyed the rejection to be examined verbally and then there is no response. I convey in writing that on the 29th the case will also continue to rise," he concluded.
