Ghufron: Conflict With The KPK Council Is Not Me Who Wants

JAKARTA - Deputy Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Nurul Ghufron said that the conflict that arose due to the ethics process by the KPK Supervisory Board was not his will. He said, various steps were taken as an effort to defend themselves.

This was conveyed by Ghufron in response to the statement of the Temporary Chairperson of the KPK, Nawawi Pomolango, who was saddened and concerned about the alleged ethical violations he had committed.

"Once again, it was not me who wanted the conflict but I was just defending myself," Ghufron told reporters at the KPK's Red and White building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Monday, May 20.

Even so, Ghufron respects the feelings of his colleague. Therefore, he hopes that the process that occurs at the time due to alleged ethical violations he has committed can be completed soon.

"Let's close about the conflict you say you are in conflict with the council," he said.

"We then re-uplift and report on the performances and results of eradicating corruption that have been carried out by the KPK," continued Ghufron.

As previously reported, the Supervisory Board will decide the fate of the Deputy Chairperson of the KPK, Nurul Ghufron, who is suspected of having committed an ethical violation for assisting the transfer of employees of the Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan) on Tuesday, May 21.

"Tomorrow at 14.00 WIB, the KPK Council's ethical decision," said Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri to reporters, Monday, May 20.

However, the Jakarta State Administrative Court (PTUN) ordered the KPK Supervisory Board to postpone the ethical examination of the Deputy Chairperson of the KPK, Nurul Ghufron, in an interim decision today, Monday, May 20.

This order is written in the Case Tracing Information System (SIPP). Meanwhile, Nurul Ghufron was examined ethically by the KPK Supervisory Board for allegedly abusing his authority to assist the employee mutation process at the Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan).

"Ordered the defendant to postpone the examination of alleged ethical violations on behalf of the reported Nurul Ghufron," said SIPP PTUN Jakarta, Monday, May 20.

In addition, Ghufron also reported the KPK Supervisory Board to the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Police. The report has been carried out since May 6 and there are two articles that are the basis, namely Article 421 of the Criminal Code and Article 310 of the Criminal Code.
