Democrat: Golkar Support For Khofifah-Emil Forward East Java Gubernatorial Election In Line With KIM's Spirit
JAKARTA - The Democratic Party welcomes the official position of the Golkar Party which has supported the Khofifah Indar Parawansa and Emil Dardak pairs in the 2024 East Java gubernatorial election. Democrats assess that Golkar's attitude is in line with the coalition in the 2024 presidential election.
"This is in line with the joint spirit of the Forward Indonesia Coalition to be able to line up as much as possible between the coalition that was built at the center and in the regions during the simultaneous regional elections in the future, especially in the gubernatorial election," said Deputy of Bappilu DPP of the Democratic Party, Kamhar Lakumani, Monday, May 20.
Kamhar said the support was also based on enthusiasm so that future collaboration and synergy of government could run optimally between the central and regional governments. As well as minimizing unnecessary dynamics in central and regional relations.
"Of course, regions that become national political storefronts or barometers will get their own portion of attention, as much as possible can be carried together," he said.
It is known that the Golkar Party officially carried the Khofifah Indar Parawansa-Emil Dardak pair in the 2024 East Java Governor Election (Pilgub Jatim).
This announcement was made by General Chair Airlangga Hartarto after receiving a visit from Khofifah-Emil at his official residence on Jalan Widya Chandra, South Jakarta, Friday, May 17.
"We flanked Khofifah Indar Parawansa and Mr. Emil Dardak. Earlier in the gathering as well as from the Golkar Party Election Winning Body, we have issued a decree to carry Mrs. Khofifah and Mr. Emil as candidates for governor of East Java and deputy governor," said Airlangga.
During the meeting, Airlangga revealed many topics that were discussed with Khofifah and Emil. One of them is with the success of Khofifah and Emil in bringing the victory of candidate pair number 2 in the 2024 presidential election, so Golkar also wants to continue the leadership of this incumbent pair in East Java.
"Because in yesterday's presidential election, East Java, the results were good and Mrs. Khofifah and Mr. Emil in the last election were also given the assignment by the Golkar Party for the first time. So the Golkar Party is consistent with couples in East Java," said Airlangga.
"And we have communicated with the Forward Indonesia Coalition, all of which have the same candidate," he continued.
