The COVID-19 Budget Can Actually Be Saved Up To IDR 652 Billion, The KPK Explains What The Government Should Do

JAKARTA - The KPK has revealed the potential to save state finances of IDR652 billion. This potential comes from a study of the function of prevention and monitoring of the use of the COVID-19 budget.

"The KPK has found the potential to save state finances amounting to Rp652 billion," said Deputy Chairman of the KPK, Alexander Marwata, at a hearing on the opinion of KPK leaders and KPK leaders together with Commission III of the DPR, Wednesday, March 10.

From this figure, IDR 30 billion was saved in connection with the Pre-Work Card program, which was a stimulus for economic recovery.

"This concerns the identification of pre-employment cards at that time. Face recognition is required. We see that it is only repetition and it does not need to be done. With the elimination of face recognition, there will be a budget savings of Rp. 30.8 billion," explained Alex.

The KPK continued saving can be done by following up the synchronization of social safety net data. Because so far there are overlapping data.

"It is synchronized with the NIK, there is a reduction or savings of Rp. 622 billion," he said.
